• DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY CAN BECOME JOY AND PASSION

  • My Goal as a Counselor and Life Coach

Depression and anxiety have become commonplace. However, that doesn't mean joy and passion are unattainable. Some people have spent years, even decades, struggling with their mental health – most commonly depression and/or anxiety, and working hard to move beyond it. Without success.

I certainly don't have all the answers, but I can help you find them. Various techniques can help move you along the path in new, more effective ways.

With couples and with individuals, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This enables clients to uncover negative thought patterns and correct them, changing old ways of thinking and acting in order to form healthy new patterns. As a result, you can respond to life's challenges in more positive ways.

I believe in the powerful connection between mind, body, and soul. Finding mental, emotional, and even spiritual health is a journey. Counseling, medication, sleep, exercise, meditation, and nutrition can play a role in helping you transition out of depression and anxiety to find your best self.

  • About

Counseling and life coaching come second nature to me. I have worked as a volunteer phone counselor for more than 25 years, with clients across the country. I received my Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in substance use disorders. And in addition to working with those struggling with substance use disorders, I have worked with parents of children on the autism spectrum, also having raised a child with autism.

I deal mainly with the following mental health challenges. Because I have experienced many of these myself, I am able to bring a large measure of empathy to our sessions.

    • Addiction
    • Anxiety
    • Depression
    • Bipolar Disorder
    • Relationship/couples Issues
    • Abuse
    • Grief
    • Trauma/PTSD
    • LGBTQ+
    • Spiritual conflict
    • Families with ASD children (autism)

In addition to my work as a counselor, I have also worked as a copywriter for advertising. You can view my portfolio at https://www.behance.net/gallery/31162999/Laurie-Campbell .

  • Telehealth

Since the onset of COVID-19, counseling via phone and via Zoom have become popular. Fortunately, I started counseling people long distance well before that. I'm comfortable using the phone or Zoom, whichever you prefer.
